Analyst – Education Department


As Education Analyst, you will help develop ideas and protocols that will continue to enhance the Education department.  You’ll develop new ways of looking at pertinent information; through collecting, compiling, analyzing and reporting data to help identify current successes and develop future strategy.  This position will help enable Heartland Dental in optimizing our workforce learning investments against the most business-critical skills and competencies.


As the Analyst for Education department you’ll be responsible for collecting, compiling, analyzing and reporting data to help identify current successes and develop future strategies.  This position requires constant review and development of our systems and processes to optimize efficiency, ensure success, deliver consistency and provide data-driven recommendations.


This position reports to Instructional Design Manager


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as system administrator role for Metrics that Matter platform
  • Provide oversight and support for implementation and launch of Metrics that Matter
  • Create and maintain user friendly reports for key stakeholder groups
  • Analyze and evaluate current return on investment (ROI) metrics as related to current curriculum; making recommendations for ongoing evaluation
  • Partner with Continuing Education Coordinator on evaluation opportunities for external programs, helping to create recommendations for most successful outcomes
  • Create internal benchmarking guidelines to evaluate ongoing programs, using knowledge of employee development best practices, matched with key business goals
  • Present data-supported program recommendations
  • Create, organize and maintain schedule for ROI reporting that needs shared with various audiences
  • Analyzing data, reporting and presenting results (in an audience-centric manner)
  • Responsible for compiling, formatting and overall presentation style of reporting
  • Partner with LMS Site Administrator to evaluate LMS analytics, helping determine what key pieces of information are needed for both ROI reporting as well as to enhance LMS utilization
  • Play a role in helping evaluate costs for in person programs related to ROI
  • Responsible for drawing conclusions or sharing insights related to various data points
  • Communicate with various course program owners trends or themes being discovered in the data


Minimum Requirements

  • Completion of one of the following: five years of data analysis experience OR associate degree and not less than one year of data analysis experience OR Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field.

  • Proactive self-starter with the ability to work independently or as a team, with a strong ability to set priorities, solve problems, and be resourceful under pressure
  • Naturally curious, and constantly looking for ways to improve processes

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience working with HR-related systems (e.g., Learning Management Systems and HCMS). UltiPro and Gartner Metrics that Matter preferred.
