As a Payroll Processor, you will serve as the point of contact for payroll with offices and employees from across the nation.  You will process accurate and timely payroll for employees from various business units, maintain employee information and provide payroll expense and demographic reporting.  Payroll processors work with employees at all levels of the company – providing exceptional customer service and assisting with each employee’s payroll needs.  The Payroll Processor position is challenging yet vital to Heartland Dental’s success as a leader in our industry.

To give you an idea of the team structure, you will work on a team of 16 payroll processors, reporting to the Manager of Payroll.

Responsibilities

Below is an overview of the duties and responsibilities you would take on in this role:

  • Accurately analyze, prepare and input payroll in Human Capital Management System (UltiPro) for assigned business units including tax setup and garnishments
  • Process employee changes including new hires, reviews, status changes, transfers and terminations
  • Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end payroll reports
  • Assist team members in assigned regions and departments with questions regarding payroll-related items
  • Field requests from field, operations, and home office departments for data housed in UltiPro
  • Track vacation for both hourly and salary employees
  • Accurately set up federal, state and local taxes for employees

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of one of the following: five years of payroll processing experience OR associate degree and not less than two years of payroll processing experience OR Bachelor’s degree.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment as part of a cohesive team
  • Utilize strong organizational and accuracy skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the position
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at any given time
  • Deliver exceptional customer service to internal and external constituents
  • Strong computer skills including use of Microsoft Excel

 

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Minimum two years of experience in payroll, preferred
  • Experience with a Human Capital Management System is desirable and experience with UltiPro is preferred
  • Experience with UltiPro Business Intelligence reporting and state and local taxes is a plus
  • Experience processing multi-state payroll
  • Working knowledge of state specific payroll regulations
  • Experience working with a team to accomplish a common goal
