    Senior Financial Reporting Accountant


    Heartland Dental is seeking an Senior Financial Reporting Accountant with public company financial reporting experience and desire to grow with our Financial Reporting Team. This team will be responsible for the financial statement reporting to internal and external customers including our 850+ supported offices, lenders and the Board of Directors.


    Heartland Dental is the largest dental support organization (DSO) in the United States. Our network is comprised of nearly 11,000 team members, and we proudly support more than 870 dental offices across 37 states. Our company is experiencing rapid growth, and we are looking for dedicated and optimistic individuals to join our Heartland Dental family.


    The position will report directly to the Director, Financial Reporting.  


    As the Senior Financial Reporting Accountant, some of your duties and responsibilities will include:

    • Assist in the preparation of monthly internal financial results package including detailed financial statement line item analysis.
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly financial reporting package to the Board of Directors.
    • Coordinate the preparation of quarterly and annual reporting in accordance with our debt agreement requirements including MD&A, financial statements, footnotes and other disclosures consistent with public company requirements.
    • Research and document technical accounting and financial reporting issues as required.
    • Establish and execute communication plans.
    • Schedule and facilitate meetings related to accounting projects, including active involvement in meetings/discussions with accounting/finance teams to gain an understanding of the overall business/processes.
    • Identify, map and review accounting processes to help the department to increase performance, including analyses such as cost-benefit or return on investment.
    • Become skilled with various financial/analytical tools and help drive their continued implementation.
    • Execute financial reporting processes and controls for Heartland’s 850+ supported practices, with specific focus on analytical review, scalability and automation.
    • Enhance the internal controls.
    • Plan, develop and implement the activities related to process or system improvements as they relate to accounting and finance functions and the financial reporting process.


    Minimum Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting.
    • 2-3 years public accounting firm experience serving public companies or 3+ years financial reporting experience
    • Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
    • Strong computer skills, including experience with the entire Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail; ability to work well under pressure, especially in a deadline driven environment, and multi-task.
    • Proven verbal and written communication skills.


    Desirable Qualifications:

    • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or pursuing certification
