    Financial Reporting Manager

    Heartland Dental is seeking a Financial Reporting Manager with a strong background in financial reporting, both internal and external, and US GAAP accounting and reporting requirements.  The Financial Reporting Manager, will report to the Controller and assist in leading the financial reporting team in all aspects of financial reporting including delivery of monthly financial reporting packages, quarterly and annual compliance reporting and development of key financial metrics, analysis and trends. The Financial Reporting Manager will also be responsible for researching and drafting technical GAAP accounting memos.

    Responsibilities

    As a Financial Reporting Manager, some of your duties and responsibilities will include:

    • Manage the monthly financial reporting process to include:
      • Monthly management financial results package
      • Monthly Board of Director financial results package
      • Department P&L preparation and analysis for our Support office and Regional departments
      • Monthly reporting to owners
    • Assist the Controller with the coordination of the monthly reconciliation review process
    • Responsible for the preparation of the Quarterly and Annual Reporting including financial statements, footnotes and MD&A
    • Responsible for the coordination of the interim and annual audit processes including coordination with external auditors and accounting and finance leaders.
    • Research and document technical accounting and financial reporting issues as required.
    • Lead the financial reporting team in a positive and proactive manner through development and mentorship.
    • Oversee the execution of financial reporting processes and controls, in accordance with GAAP and Heartland corporate accounting policies with specific focus on analytical review, scalability and automation.
    • Schedule and facilitate meetings related to accounting projects, including active involvement in meetings/discussions with accounting/finance teams to gain an understanding of the overall business/processes.
    • Streamline the monthly financial reporting process and identify areas for efficiency based on analysis.
    • Establish and execute communication plans.

    Qualifications

    You might be a perfect fit for this job if you have:

    • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
    • CPA
    • 5-10 years of experience with large CPA firm and/or large company
    • SEC reporting experience
    • Experience working within internal and external financial reporting group
    • Proven verbal and written communication skills.
    • Analytical and problem-solving skills, organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to work well under pressure, especially in a deadline-driven environment.

     

    You may also have:

    • Substantial knowledge of US GAAP, SOX and internal controls.
    • Proficiency in navigating reporting tools and financial accounting systems.
    • Track record of building teams.
    • Ability to work at the Home Office in Effingham, IL as needed.
    • Involvement with implementing a new system and working with reporting software tools.
