    Responsibilities

    Position Description and Expectations:  Due to anticipated growth over the next three to five years, Heartland Dental must add highly specialized talent.    We are looking for an individual to lead the Dental Insurance Administration (“DIA”) team and advance Heartland Dental’s credentialing and fee schedule maintenance through forward thinking, a positive attitude and customer-service oriented manner.   First year responsibilities include the following:

    • Assessing the DIA function and creating a strategic plan to:
      • (1) Improve the internal scalability, efficiency and automation of the DIA services; and
      • (2) Partner with Dental Insurance providers to improve external processing time of applications and support the modernization of Dental Insurance overall
    • Analyzing and evaluating the services being provided to determine the optimal services levels for the Company

     This position has visibility with Heartland Dental’s executive leadership team, Regional Directors of Operations, and supported doctors.

     

    In this position, you will work closely with a peer group including, Deputy General Counsel; Director of Employee Relations and Paralegal Services, Corporate Compliance Officer and reporting to the Executive Vice President, General Counsel.

     

    While relocation to Effingham, IL is preferred, candidates in the St. Louis area will be considered. Travel to the support office located in Effingham, IL three to four days per week for onboarding and training will be required, with periodic visits to Effingham thereafter.

     

    Responsibilities:

     

    The Director of Credentialing (Dental Insurance Administration) team will report directly to the Executive Vice President and General Counsel and oversee the credentialing and fee schedule maintenance.  The DIA team ensures that (1) supported doctors are timely and accurately credentialed and enrolled with insurance plans; (2) fee schedules are optimized and accurately represented in the supported offices dental management software; The Director of DIA will embody Heartland Dental’s core values, including:

    Director of Crednetialing (Dental Insurance Administration Director) – Year One Top Ten Business Goals

    1. Partner with the managers of the DIA team to assess the department and create a strategic plan to optimize and automate the DIA team functions, improve scalability and partner with Dental Insurers to improve external processing time.
    2. Through collaborative efforts, tactically improve the company’s credentialing, fee schedule, and credits processes and services to promote efficiencies and improve scalability.
    3. Partner with dental insurance and other dental vendors to be on the leading edge of the industry.
    4. Through collaboration continue to refine and enhance the throughput goals and rewards systems for each sub-department.
    5. Support the various areas of the DIA team and its managers to enhance and optimize the level of customer service that the team consistently provides.
    6. Grow the various team managers to grow their teams.
    7. Support the development and implementation of the new HRIS system.
    8. Through collaborative efforts, support the Affiliations, Development, and Recruiting Department goals of growth for Heartland Dental in 2018.
    9. Support the goal of increasing total enrollment throughout by 65% in 2018 (from 10,366 in 2017 to 17,104 in 2018) and average enrollment team member productivity by 40% in 2018 (from 52 enrollments per team member, per week in 2017 to 73 enrollments per team member, per week in 2018).
    10. Through collaborative efforts, create, optimize, and execute a process for fee schedule increase and maintenance to support.

    Qualifications

    Minimum Requirements:

    • Insurance company experience with credentialing and claims.  Dental insurance experience is preferred.
    • Ability to think strategically and problem solve new and complex issues in a fast-paced and rapidly changing internal and external environment.
    • Flexible team player who is professional and service-oriented at all times.
    • Ability to collaborate well with colleagues
    • Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, follow through and meet deadlines
    • Ability to proactively identify and analyze potential dental insurance issues, and to develop creative business focused advice and solutions
    • Be fully accountable and able to exercise sound judgment
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Ability to travel up to 20%

    • Significant strategic leadership experience
    • Dental insurance knowledge
